I hope you enjoyed the first five of my entries in the Facebook “10 Albums in 10 Days” challenge. Again, they are in no particular order, simply 10 music albums that have deeply impacted me in one way or another throughout time. Here I will post the second group of five albums I posted in the challenge, with a brief commentary on each one.
You are totally welcome (in fact, encouraged) to add your own comments and/or discuss your own albums.
Day 6:
I owe my rock side to both my brothers, and the three of us went to see AC/DC in San Juan in 2009 as part of their “Black Ice Tour.” One of the best concerts ever. They played the best songs from their “Back in Black” album, which of course makes my list.
Day 7:
I have always been a huge Santana fan, and was so happy to see the “Supernatural” album come out. Santana had been fairly quiet for a number of years, and I was amazed at how good the album was and how much I liked all the songs.
Day 8:
For pure, danceable salsa quality, this album… “Planté Bandera” by Tommy Olivencia… is hard to beat. Practically every song in there is a major hit, and it is truly a timeless album. Special not just to me, but to a lot of people of my generation.
Day 9:
When Sade first came on the scene with the album “Diamond Life”, I got hooked. My wife and I both became big fans of her voice and her music. “Smooth Operator” became at the time one of my favorite songs.
Day 10:
I’ve been a fan of El Gran Combo for many years. But their “Nuevo Milenio, El Mismo Sabor” album became a favorite of mine around the time I was heavily into dancing and practiced a lot with my wife and one of my daughters. Which is why it has had the biggest impact on me of all their albums.
So again those were my own 10 albums, in no particular order. What are (have been) some of yours?
